Since taking office President Trump and his Administration have pushed extraordinarily regressive policies when it comes to immigration and refugees. The Administration has aggressively pursued its “Muslim Ban” policy through executive orders; sanctuary cities have been threatened with cut offs of federal funding; and ICE agents have dramatically expanded the scope of their arrest and deportation efforts.

At the same time, the country has also witnessed a massive surge in activism and direct action activities from individuals across the country and in Virginia. As activism grows, so too has interest in the broader, contextual issues of global migration, conflicts, and refugee displacement; America’s historic openness to immigrants and refugees; and the role our country can play today in helping to resolve the current refugee crisis.

JOIN UP for a panel discussion with experts and advocates about these critical global issues and help foster greater understanding around the topic of immigration and refugee policy.  Organizers will also identify opportunities for you to make a difference right here in Virginia.
