Hosted by This Changes Everything and others

Join up for a convergence on the importance of environmental justice in the fight for democracy in the USA. This event will explore how climate change is disproportionately impacting communities of color, and the leadership roles that HBCU students and faculty are playing in the environmental justice movement. Panels will feature Rev. Lennox Yearwood and Mustafa Ali exploring the history and goals of the EJ movement, with HBCU students and a local DC activist discussing its future.

The event will also highlight an HBCU perspective on the Leap Manifesto, which is bringing together different movements in Canada around a shared, positive vision for a new economy - one based on caring for the Earth and one another - and is profiled in Naomi Klein's forthcoming new book No is Not Enough: Resisting Trump's Shock Politics And Winning The World We Need.
