Activist Coalition of D.C. (ACDC)
The Washington Peace Center has been leading the charge to facilitate better coordination and communication in the DC activist community. We are founding members of the Activist Coalition of D.C., or the ACDC.
The coalition is a progressive group dedicated to building capacity in DC through working together for more effective non-violent actions that are both locally and nationally catalyzed.
The Activist Coalition of D.C. worked together to create a powerful progressive presence on the streets of Washington on Inauguration Day 2009 so that Jan. 20 was a day to build our movement. Click here for pictures from our successful day!
Please check our website periodically for more updates, and further information! To get involved, or to come to our regular Coalition meetings, contact Sonia at 202-234-2000, sonia@washingtonpeacecenter.net.
More about the coalition:
We are unified by our commitment to stop this war and all future wars, as well as working to create a just and sustainable world. We support many different techniques of creating that change, including non-violent civil disobedience and many kinds of direct action. We are made up of individuals, many of whom are a part of or represent organizations, who will be holding themselves and others accountable to each other. We pledge to follow through on the responsibilities we take on and to ask for assistance if we cannot.
